How large is the ballroom? How many guests does it seat for dinner and dancing?
The ballroom and tented courtyard can fit up to 20 tables, or 200 guests, for dinner and dancing.
Linden Place’s ballroom is 36’x50’ and can hold up to 13 tables (130 guests) for dinner and dancing with a D.J. Please note that bands take up much more space than a DJ and plan accordingly.
The ballroom is often used in conjunction with the adjacent courtyard, which is tented April – November, and includes a hardwood floor, sides and lighting. This tent can be used as a space for additional table seating. Additionally, the courtyard is a good space to use for food stations and for a bar set-up.
For events taking place December through March, a tent and heaters can be secured through a local tent rental company, if needed.
Can I have my wedding ceremony at Linden Place?
Linden Place has both indoor and outdoor sites available for wedding ceremonies. Our outdoor sites include the lovely sculpture and rose gardens. The Linden Place Ballroom is a unique indoor venue with its large working fireplace, hardwood floors, exposed beam ceilings and large carriage house doors.
Can I bring in my own food and catering service?
No. You may choose a catering service from our list of certified caterers.
Why do I have to use one of the caterers on Linden Place’s list?
To ensure that our clients enjoy a smooth-running and stress-free event, Linden Place has a required list of caterers. These caterers have managed many events at Linden Place. They are familiar with details of our historic site, our staff and our policies and procedures.
Do you book more than one event per day?
No. This gives you the flexibility to select your own time frame for your wedding or event.
What does the rental fee include?
The rental fee includes exclusive use of Linden Place mansion, ballroom and gardens for the duration of your event, as well as use of our tables and chairs.

Can I have a band or D.J. perform at my wedding?
Yes. Linden Place allows both D.J.’s and live bands to perform in the Linden Place ballroom.
After I reserve Linden Place, what should I expect from the Linden Place staff?
At any time after you reserve your date, Linden Place staff is available to answer your questions regarding all aspects of your event including decorations, set up and food service. Linden Place staff will arrange for site visits with vendors who are new to Linden Place and schedule planning meetings, as needed.
How can I secure a date at Linden Place for my event?
A date is officially secured at Linden Place once a rental agreement has been signed and a deposit has been paid.
Is there a security deposit?
Yes. There is a 20% security deposit for the protection of the historic site; subject to refund.
Can Linden Place be rented for receptions only?
Yes. You are welcome to host your ceremony off-site at the location of your choice.
How long do we have for our event?
The Linden Place daily rate includes an 8-hour block of time. This includes a 2-hour set up time, a 5-hour event and 1-hour break down/clean up time. You may rent additional time at the applicable hourly rate.
Can we book wedding photography only at Linden Place?
Yes. Linden Place is available for wedding photography sessions. The fee is $250 for one hour and fifteen minutes of on-site photography. Photography sessions cannot be reserved more than two months in advance. Call the Linden Place office for more details at 401-253-0390.
Can Linden Place supply me with a list of local lodgings, caterers, florists, photographers, musicians, etc?
