Docent-led group tours are offered at a discounted per person rate. A minimum of ten guests per group is required and the driver is complimentary.

SPECIALTY AND GROUP TOUR OFFERINGS

Guided Tour of the Mansion

A visit to Linden Place is to experience two centuries of American history in one place. Long before it appeared in the movie The Great Gatsby, this exceptional example of Federal architecture was the dramatic stage

for one family's multi-generational journey from the dark days of the slave trade through the boom times of the Industrial Age. Along the way, they hosted Presidents. married into a world-famous theatrical family, and collected a wide array of treasures, which are now on display. Guided tours with one of Linden Place's experienced docents include the first and second floor and plenty of time for conversation and questions.

Duration: 1 hour and 15 minutes

Cost: $10.00/person 

Gourmet Boxed Lunches

Linden Place is delighted to offer our group tours the option of enjoying lunch inside our historic ballroom or in the garden, subject to availability. The catered boxed lunches are offered by one of Linden Place's premier caterers. Requests for lunch must be made at least 3 weeks in advance. Pricing varies.

Bristol & the Slave Trade Walking Tour

This walking tour of Linden Place and downtown Bristol is focused specifically on the DeWolf family and their involvement in the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade. The DeWolf family was once one of the largest traders of slaves in New England. Learn how Bristol, New  England, and all of the United States were impacted by the slave trade from our museum educators. The tour begins at Linden Place Mansion, continues through the  center of historic Bristol and down to the waterfront of Thames Street, pointing out significant sites tied to Bristol's lengthy and profitable involvement in the slave  trade. The tour is an approximately 1/2 mile walk.

Duration: 2 hours 
Cost: $15.00/person

Linden Place Gardens & Grounds Tour

A special docent-led tour focused on the statuary on the Linden Place grounds. Explore the grounds while you uncover the history behind the statues and the man that brought them to Bristol, Samuel Pomeroy Colt. Hear the stories of Polymny, the woman who graces the front lawn, as well as the “rampant colts” placed throughout the gardens. As you tour the grounds, you will have a chance to appreciate the 200-year-old mansion from a different view.

Cost: $12.00/person
